Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Public Works Department to provide a secure and reliable infrastructure for all members of the community while continuing to find innovative ways to improve the delivery of services. The Public Works Department oversees the design, construction, management and maintenance of the City's streets, trees, water, sidewalks, sewers and storm drains; buildings and structures; vehicles and equipment; street lights and traffic signals.

Public accessibility is a priority to our Public Works crews! Our crews diligently respond to public service requests as they are received during our normal business hours.

Residential Lead Water Service Line Replacement Program 

The City Council passed a resolution adopting a Residential Lead Water Service Line Replacement Program on March 23, 2021. The goal of this program is to provide financial assistance to homeowners who replace their lead water service line. 

ComEd Contact Information for Residents

As the spring storms and summer storms approach, it is very useful to keep ComEd contact information at hand. The attached list contains ComEd's call center, J.U.L.I.E number (used for joint utility locating information for excavations), streetlight outage info, outage alert notification, and mobile application (used for reporting outages, managing accounts, enrolling in personalized notifications.) Also included is ComEd's social media sources.
