INVITATION FOR BIDS:

City of Berwyn Senior Center Project

TIME AND PLACE OF OPENING OF BIDS:  Sealed Proposals for the improvement described herein will be received at the office of the City Clerk, City of Berwyn, 6700 West 26^th Street, Berwyn, Illinois, 60402, until 10:00 a.m. on November 13, 2024, and will be publicly opened and read at that time. 

IMPORTANT NOTE:

2. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 3320 Grove Avenue on October 29, 2024, 10AM. 
3. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to waive technicalities and to reject any or all proposals as provided in BLRS Special Provision for Bidding Requirements and Conditions for Contract Proposals.
4. The following forms must be returned by the bidder to the Awarding Authority:

• BLR 12200: Local Public Agency Formal Contract Proposal
• BLR 12201: Schedule of Prices
• BLR 12230: Proposal Bid Bond
• BLR 12325: Apprenticeship or Training Program Certification
• BLR 12326: Affidavit of Illinois Business Office

      5. The Contractor will be required to pay Prevailing Wages in accordance with all applicable laws. 

PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS: The project consists of the renovation of an existing commercial space for demised use as both a Senior Activity Center and Offices for the City of Berwyn. A future phase will also be demised as outlined in the contract drawings. Anticipated trades include but is not limited to selective demolition, concrete infill, metal studs, doors and frames, carpentry, millwork, operable partition, storefront entrances, louvers and vents, drywall, painting, tile, acoustical ceiling, sprinkler system adjustment, plumbing, mechanical systems, electrical systems, low voltage, toilet compartments and accessories, overhead doors, access hatches and other Work indicated in the Contract Documents.

TIME AND PLACE OF OPENING OF BIDS: Bids will be received by the City Clerk at Berwyn City Hall, 6700 26^th Street, Berwyn, IL 60402 until 2:00 PM, (Central Time) on Friday, November 22, 2024, and then publicly opened and read aloud in the 2^nd Floor Conference Room.

PRE-BID MEETING:  A MANDATORY Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at Berwyn City Hall, 6700 26^th Street (2^nd Floor Conference Room), Berwyn, IL 60402 at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.  

PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS: The project generally includes removal and replacement of approximately 18,000 LF of ductile iron water main ranging in size from 4” to 16”, water service replacements, new fire hydrants and valve vaults, sewer rehabilitation, pavement patching, and restoration.
